People with rebuilt SS tranny's.
i just got my car back from the rebuilders, it took them over 3 months
i have a few questions for pple who had their tranny's rebuilt
-did you guys just drive normally, i.e: vtec all day all gears... or wait awhile (few 1xxx miles?
-did you guys have any problems with it in the near future?
-do the gear shifts seem weak as in... does it seem it doesn't wanna shift smoothly?
-also, my check engine light is on.. the rebuilder said "honda said it was something to do with emissions, go take it to honda and let them check it out.."
yea so they can charge me money on that **** too.

Check to see what code is being thrown, then post it up: http://www.hondaprelude.to/main_checkengine.html
Who did this rebuild for you? My understanding has been that most general auto tranny shops will f up a rebuild on an SS tranny. There are a few of wholesale rebuilders, such as Howard Engineering, that supply Honda dealerships with rebuild replacements. Honda dealerships do not do the rebuild, they get their trannies from one of these few places. Because of the shortage of cores, usually your own tranny needs to be sent out to one of these rebuilders.

i too read about general shops that f' up your tranny, but that was about 1 month into my rebuild that i read it.
-::10 minutes later:: i just got back looking for the code. the site said to look for a blue plug on the right side of the centre console, which i couldn't find. there was on under the steering wheel(which was blue, same color as picture site gave me), and one directly under a/c unit, but that one wasn't even blue, somewhat teal.
thx for the help. hopefuly my car isn't fucked up.
