AEM for NSX installed and tuned...
With the AEM, we are running the AF at a solid 13.8:1 at WOT, The VTEC activation point was lowered to 5000, the rev limiter has been raised to 8500 and switched from a fuel cut to ignition cut.

We took the car to the track lastnite and made a comparison of the stock ECU and the tuned AEM
stock ecu best:
60' 2.037
1/8 8.581
mph 85.40
1/4 13.163
mph 106.96
AEM best
60' 2.015
1/8 8.407
mph 89.25
1/4 12.929
mph 109.63
All of the runs were made with the same driver and vehicle setup
The car has the potential for better times but we were more interested in consistent passes.
The car is a 94 with Comptech intake, stock exhaust manifolds and straightpipes (no cats)
All of the tuning was done with a FJO wideband
I am spending a lot of time trying to make the car run perfect. We are very close. The owner, Brad Able, told me the start up is much smoother and easier to drive, and the part throttle response is much crisper. We are going to start building up his fuel system in preparation for turbo. I will try to keep up with the boards as we go.

I've been reading your posts on Prime and have been pretty impressed with your results. Taking a 3.0 NSX to 12.9 with minor bolt-on mods - wow. I'd been lurking on the thread on Prime and am looking forward to hearing more about the turbo system.
Congrats!
Congrats!
Here is the vid of the 12.9 pass.. it doesnt show the times on the board but its entertaining at least.

Damn thats loud why the hell would you take the muffler and cats off. I could understand the cats but the muffler????
Just curious keep us updated on the AEM, you also might think of saving some of the configurations as you go. Maybe give them to Lud, so others with less experience would have a starting point.
Best of luck.

Excuse my ignorance, but where does it say that he took off his muffler? It only says he took off his cats.
and straight pipes usually means no exhaust at all just straight pipes

The mufflers are off the car. The reason is for performance. There is less weight with a straight pipe than a muffler.

We dont have any dyno comparisons. The main reason for doing the straight pipes was weight, the other reason was for the sound. Brad likes the aggressive exhaust sound, and I must say he gets it with his car. Its music to the ears when he is running in front of you at 8500rpms.
