Lowering
i have a 96 accord lx...i want to lower it and i have bought max speed coilovers...i was told by a few people that the OEM shocks can handle a drop of 1-2 inches, i just wanted to get some oppinions on here...let me know
I have about a 2 inch drop and my accord. The tires are a little bit off balance from the center. Nothing noticeable but i'll deal with it. If you're really worried about it, just get a chamber kit and that will put your tires back on track.

Go for H&R or eibach.
I have eibach prokit 1.5inch drop
very very minor camber wear.
(dont forget a get alignment done after 2week)
your buddy is right..1-2 inch is pretty minor just rotate
them every 4-5K, and make sure check the toe.
your shocks have more than 5 years..
just go ahead a get some KYB AGX, about 310bucks.
no worth it to have to redo the shock again if the stock shock fu_k up.,.

Go ahead and change the struts while your there. The OEM's might handle it, but the ride will probably be bouncy as hell, and if they can't handle it your looking at tearing your suspension apart again.
Get a Camber Adjustment Kit; it's a small price to pay when compared to the cost of replacing tires.

I just did my 94 EX and wound up spending almost 1800, but I had it done right all around. I bought Tokico full coilovers ($700)(not the stuff you find on ebay for 200 bux, those will not perform the same and will wear out, plus you still have to buy struts) There is actually a set of the coilovers I bought on ebay right now link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1876242620
I also bought Ingalls camber kits (about $270 for both) for the front and rear since I lowered the car over 2 inches. I had them installed at a reputable shop in my town that specializes in foreign cars ($650).
However, my left axle is bad and I also had to replace my sway bar links and bushings since mine were dryrotted so that is costing me another few hundred. All in all you can do it for under 2 grand (especially if you do it yourself). I though about trying but this is my daily driver and I did not have the time (plus, if I screwed something up along the way, and something decides to give at 90mph on Rt 95, I'm pizza. Good luck! It is definately worth it!!

lets put it this way, if you use maxspeed coilovers, i would definately recommend you get some shocks. the spring rates are much higher than your stock springs. the causes havoc on your shocks and the stock shocks cant really handle a 2" drop on coil overs. if you had lowering springs ie eibach, h&r, neuspeed, they might be able to handle it for a while. the coil overs will blow your stock shocks pretty quick. also, if you lower the car 2", id also get camber kits. ingalls are good, i have them on all 4 corners. also, if youre cheap, you can use the bolt and washer method in the back. but get them for the front for sure. i didnt get them right away, and my tires went after like 3-4 months. hope everything works out!
