I would like to know the same thing. I dont think they just give them to anyone cause a couple of friends and I sent them apps, but i was the only one that heard anything back. A guy named Josh called me from there and said they were interested in sponsoring me and that I would receive a contract in the mail the 17th. So I guess I will get some answers then. Anyways, what did they state in your proposal?

I got sponsored by them. they said i have to go to 4 races at least take pictures of hte car with the racer x motorsports at each track. i get free dyno runs after 20% of my 10gs in parts is used. They have a gay shirt though lol. But oh well I got sponsored. I am from DC also like the only one from dC lol.

Yea they pick a certain amount per region or per state , I am in Contact witrh Eric from there quite often , I got sponsored with the same deal with my R and my girlfriend with her 02si too , and one of my friend s with his CRx .
I dunno I have nothign to loose, so i took it . discounts on parts, which i can get becuase im a delaer anyway , but some of the stuff i cant get they can , so that helps. and they dist to me also, so i can get alot more parts for my customers. also they ar gonns work me a big break for dyno time becuase there really isnt alot left for me to do to my car for that $10k. but just to have another sponsor looks good .
but for the 02si it will work great becuase i got alot of plans for that and barely touched yet.

if you are accecpted they do charge you like $70 or soemthing . thats to cover their costs with set up **** and the contracts, they have thme all read over by lawyers and stuff and stickers, tshirts and **** .
You dont get money from them , what happens is when you buy parts from them you get a huge discount on the parts. thne they "pay the rest" and it comes out of your sponsorship purse. sometimes udner certain conditions i tinhk they will give free parts, but im sure you gotta be the **** for thme to do that .
somtimes like i said the discounts can be upto 52%. mostly showy **** is , performance stuff is usually 25-40% maybe , even if so, for most people here thats dirt cheap .

to give you an idea, i know for a fact that ground control doenst do much on pricng at all . but for ther02si they are $335+ shipping . well racer X QUOTED ME ON $225 shipped to my door. which aint bad at all. . . oh yea you dont pay shipping charges either, which is nice.

yea i knwo ,t hats what they say , but i guess i can pay $70 for the amounts of discounts they are offering . Trust me i erad that contract over and over and over, and it looked legit , no fine print. and my girl is having hers read by a lawer. if they screw anyone over and that contract isnt on point . one of us could be the future new owners of racer X

I did it agian becuase i have nothign to lose either way , just more to gain. But I do think its a marketing scheeme to get them more business and get thme more well know , thats why the $70 fee and multiple people sponsored. . . they are makign money even at the big disounts becuase they are getting the **** so cheap in the big buy ins they are paying for . . . well we are paying for . thats prob the reason they charge, so they can pay off their buy in for the manufacturers direct and make more cash off it . . . gotta look at it from a business stand point .

So when you get that 10G sponsorship and say you want that GC coilovers does that mean iz 335 but you have to pay the 225 and they will cover the rest?

yes , basically that it , thne the other $110 difference they take from the $10g balance . That 10G's is only used from what they shell out or "the differnce" between retial and what you pay.

your getting discoutns , so for the reg Joe Shmoe thats great, for people like us that have businesses its not as appealing . the only reason it is to me is becuase, They can get **** i cant get from my other distribtuors. like I said, I have nothing to lose, juast something to gain . so i dont mind, plus it makes me look better in my portfolio if i have more sponsors, then i look like a hottt comdity
its all business man , trust me they arent losing nor are the sponsored people.

They sponsor you 10K or whatever amount, but you will never actually see the money in your hands. What happens is that you have a tab with them. So lets say a set of spring list at 345 and you want them they will sell it to you for 225 plus shipping and that 100 dollars is considered part of your 10K sponsorship money. Thas how I precieve it as. Am i wrong?

The real question should be..if I don't spend or use up the whole 10,000, am I on the hook to pay back the part I did use up.

*SNIF SNIF* I smell a lousy attempt at getting names on cars. I need to pay them . Hahahahahahahahah and anyone "sponsered" never sees that money. Try again kids...this one isnt working.
