Default CRX costs $$$ to obtain and secksor.

The one guy buying the four door for that great deal made me want to start a topic for all the people out there that shoveled money over for our crx's.

Me, I paid 2,600 for a 91 White Si, with 120k miles...perfect body near perfect interior, no rust, and 120k running strong. The shocks and springs needed to be replaced.

Think I got an ok deal? At the time it seemed to me like I was getting a very decent price, but now that I think about it, I probably should have paid 2200-2400. WHat did you guys pay, think you got an ok price?

I tell you the CRX's were in high demand 1 year and a half ago when I got mine, is it still the same way?

Well you usually get what you pay for but sometimes it can work out either way with either getting a very good deal or paying a bit too much. CRX's have always been in pretty much high demand since there isnt a lot of them around but it also depends on your location. I paid $3700 for my 91 CRX with an auto trans but that was also a little over 4 years ago. As for asking if yours was a good price....Does it really matter?? I mean you already bought and paid for it so not like you can go back on the deal anyways. Just my $.02

man all you guys in the states shouldn't complain, really. you get your civics or crxs for dirt cheap and in most cases good condition. you guys don't have to worry about cold *** temps, salt on the roads, feet of snow. where i live all of those things exist and i've never seen a STOCK hatchback or crx without rust and still i will never get a mint EF for the price you guys pay in the US.

i recently bought an 89 hb to replace my 91 that got written off 2 months after it got a new look. my first one cost my dad $3800 CDN and it was a base model. the second one, i paid $2300 with a lot of rust, base model, brown interior.

my answer to your question is YES you did get a really good deal (although it might've been possible to bring it down a couple more hundreds

OK with the exception of feet of snow (atleast this year) Here in Wisconsin we do have to worry about salt and finding cars that are clean you talk to most people on here from Wisconsin they like to dump the salt out for even a little dusting of snow which in some cases is nice but in most cases not. There are plenty of people that travel out of this state to pick them up so that they can actually find a rust free Honda its hard to come by an 88-91 Civic or CRX without any rust cause of the salt. As for prices once again have to say that it all depends on the location and condition of the vehicle that your buying. I dont see what he paid as a bad price but others may. I mean look at Hondasaurus he picked up that clean *** hatch for like $2400 with all of those extra parts like i had said to him I was going to buy a 90 Si hatch like his but it needed body work (already had bondo on it just not painted) And plus I would have had to put in new headlights new corners and new bumpers and install the new hood I mean all of the parts were there but I would have had to put it together and I was going to pay $1700 for it. Not too bad of a price but when you compare it to his its like i was getting ripped off thats why I had said about some people get good prices others pay a little too much but hey if I could find that same hatch that was together and didnt need paint for $1700 I would have boughten it on the spot.....

oooppss! sorry i didn't know it snowed in wisconsin. but how low does the temp get during winter? here the temp goes all the way down to usually -30C but as of now mother nature has been great to us lately. today the high was +7C and i didn't have to wear a sweater nor a jacket. and rarely it goes all the way down to -40C.

all i'm saying is you guys are very lucky to obtain civics or crxs (Si models even) at such incredible low prices. crx or civic Si go for $4000 and above with rust for sure and a lot of kms. i've seen one go for 7000-8000 STOCK and it wasn't all that either. i'm just really jealous that's all

1990 CRX Si, 150k bought off a med student from CA who had just bought a new car. He was looking to get rid of it quick, I walked away away with it for $1100.

I bought my si rex for 2500, perfect interior, even has the original crx floor mats in good condition, a few dings on the outside. Car had 230k miles, but had just had the original d16 rebuilt and running stronger than ever. It came from PA without a drop of rust. I was impressed. I went 12 hours out of state to get my perfect car

i paid 5g's for mine with a b16a with ctr cams, gsr transmission with a jdm pr3 ecu, s2000 seats and a bunch of other goodies. the car itself only had 60,000 on the odometer (it has been taken care of pretty well till they started modding it) and the b16a supposively only had about 30k on it. it runs plenty strong but they lowered it improperly and now i'm getting new tie rods and rear control arms put on while its getting some other work done to it. oh and no rust anywhere. when it gets outt the shop i'll post pics. it was shipped from FL to here though.

You got a great deal. It is becoming nearly impossible to find CRXs without rust.

The coldest I've seen was 70- F. with the wind about 30-f. without. Usually a good winter the temp will average between 10= to 10- F. it all depends. We usually get alot of snow but this winter has been lame. Anyway. I have traveled over 1,500 miles to get the right car. I'll pay mor for a rust free project it all depends on what you want to do with it. A daily driver you can get locally with some rust but if it's going to be nice, better start looking southalso you need to remember the exchange rate. $4,000 usd is like what $6,500 in Canada?
