Do 4th gen civic si's have speakers in the back?
I have a 90 si. I was told that the si's come w/ speakers in the back, i only have them in the doors. I have a dx sticker on the back of the car but i have the si motor, trans, interior, suspension, v.i.n is an Si (Made in canada) etc.. Would the fact that is was built in canada make a difference?
Also, What harness do i use to wire in a d16z6 into a 89 crx?? I've asked before but no reply, search doesn't say **** about it. Help me cause my bro bought a car w/ the swap but just needs a harness. So far i've tried 2 harnesses and 1/2 of each one fit. Will i have to blend a harness or is there a harness i can get that hooks right up? I was also told that because his is the 64th one off the assembly line, that some of the older parts are mixed w/ the new parts? this true or did the guy that did the swap **** up somewhere? He was an idiot so i wouldn't put it past him.

If it has a sunroof its an Si, otherwise its a DX.
My Si had rear speakers.
i usually use the original harness then add the wires/plugs i need for things like
vtec, oil pressure switch, etc...

it was a dealer option i believe for the rear speakers. for any model. also any stock honda stereo in our years was a dealer option too. you can buy the speaker brackets from honda though to put in your car. i did for my 91std
Out of the 4 CRX's that I have owned none of them had the speakers in the back but with 2 (1 was a parts car and the other sold after I put on a front end) of them I went to the junkyard and got them out of the back of a car there. Not anything near the price the dealer wants and it doesnt really matter there shape cause they are completely covered up. Oh and 2 things if you do decide to get them there is already the wires there for the rear speakers and also even just the stock radio is setup to run the 4 speakers. Oh and even though your talking about a hatch there the same between the 2 I was just giving you my example which happened to be from a CRX.....

the rear speakers in the hatch are in a horrible spot, (but only if your a fool) say your cruisin' on a nice day and you have you back windows open, then get home starts to poor rain, you forgot to close those back window (which i always do, mainly becuse i forget there open) then where does the rain go? right where those speakers are stitting.
you need to do that caravan conversion and get the power openers

bling bling!! caravan home-depot mod!!! i wish my crx had the pop-out windows..
as for my car, i have rear speakers, but no more fronts.. damn crystal method blew out the 13 year old honda junx, and as long as my rears still work, that's fine with me. i have a B16a and 4-2-1 headers at the front, so that's a great sound system!!

I have a 91 Si. It's actually an optional kit that screws on to the two useless trays on both sides of you interior hatchcover. It runs about 20-25 bucks but worth it definatly. Installation is for dummies. You should still be able to special order form tha dealership or ( worst case scenario) th main parts warehouse in Ohio. uhhhhhhhhh......so to answer your question, yes they do. oh yeah!! they fit 5 1/4's, 6's or 6 1/2's

That would be pretty cool. I would like to see someone do it!!

I have a 91 Si made in Canada and it didnt come w/ rear speaker brackets----but I made a recent junkyard run and found them in a 91 dx and stole them---It's obviously a dealer option.....
i don't think it would be that hard would it?

next time I go to the junkyard I'm gonna look around at some of the mini-vans to see what its like, my dad has a caravan, but I dont think he'd like me taking his lol...
and for speaker brackets, I found some for my car at the local wrecking yard, guy gave them to me for free..but I also bought the reat harch then too so he just threw them in. they are in a bad place, but I still like em
I didn't have rear speakers in my '90 civic si hatch, but I put 4 6x9's in the rear parcel tray. I didn't have the tray either, but I found one in the junkyard for $20, put 4 holes in it, and mounted 4 speakers. They sound AMAZING and take up no more room than the normal parcel shelf. Also, I wrapped the shelf in matching black fabric, ($5 from any material store) and now they are also invisible to any prying eyes. So, Kenwood CD, 6 speakers, and it sounds like I've got subs in there...

Ive thought of that myself but I'd use some kind of male/female clips so I could disconect the speakers when I take out the cover, I can't count how many times I've had to fold down the seats to fit something big, anything can fit in a hatchback!
you can rig a wood plate and put in 4" speaker or 5.25" with work.
You could put in 4x6 w/o much effort w/o the factory option plate.
