superchager with nitrous? need tips
i m putting a JRSC into my ls and i want to put nos too. what would be best for this setup? and is port and polish alright for supercharged and if i put cams will it still work alright with the supercharger. and is high compression needed for port and polished, alright, thanks
I had an Ls, supercharged it, and was making 170hp with EVERY bolt on, JR boost upgrade, and BTC. The car really wasnt that fast at all. Nitrous and S/C is like juggling clevers, mess up and your screwed. Nitrous has been speculated to screw up bearings in the S/C. Also, to do this safely, you would have to run a maximum of a 15 shot. You will barely be able to feel this. If I still had my LS, and could do it all over again, I would put forged pistons in it, and run a 100 shot. Just my .02.

what makes superchargers more reliable then a turbo, if i run a turbo at 7psi and a s/c at 7 psi wont it be the same. cause the engine is getting the same amount of abuse?
One of the reasons turbos make more power, is that a turbo is produces power from your exhaust gases, so its free power. An S/C isn't free power, its run off your crankshaft, like your ac, alternator, etc, etc. Since it takes power to turn the compressors, its basicaly taking power away from the engine. But once you run boost or pressure, this drawback is completely overcome by the gains of the boost. A turbo is harsher on the engine because ANYTIME your rpm's run over the spool point of the turbo, you are boosting (I think), doing this for long periods of a time is obviously harder on an engine. An SC doesnt boost all the time, infact, you could theoretically accelerate to redline without boosting (I think) I know I dont boost on the highway, so I think its possible. A turbo is also oil cooled, this oil is obtained through the oil in your engine, and in order to get it you have to tap the oil pan, if this line to were ever come off, (chances are slim and none) it would overheat the turbo and ruin it. Sorry for not being more positive, but Im a supercharger guy.

high overlap cams with a supercharger is not efficient. stick with the stock cams.
as for the NO2 on the car with a SC, just a 20 shot will be great, it will cool down the intake temps that are created by the SC, and it will give you much more HP than a 20 shot normally would.
there are a few guys that run 20 shots on their JRSCed tegs for this very purpose. do a lot of research first, and not just here, there are a lot of advantages and disadvantages to SC.

I am curious about this too as I hsave a JRSC and need a little something else.
-Is it definetly not safe to have 20+shot into the SC?
-do they even make 10-20 shot nozzles?
-Why would you not want to got WET?
-Does the JRSC have direct ports for the nitrous option?
