egraintegra exhaust help
hi, my girl has a 98 integra gs and wants an exhaust system, well, she just wants it to make a good noise. would i need to put a new system or can i just put a muffler on there? also an intake....if anyone could give me some info or recommend some brands that make a good sound, id appreciate it......
Well, aside from the possible flaming your girl would get here on HT.....

If she is just interested in sound. You wouldn't have to swap out the entire system (piping, canister, etc). You can pick up a universal canister from almost anywhere (online, Pep Boys, etc) and weld it on. Other than a canister, you can get an axleback portion where just the pipe from the axleback and the canister is included.
The design of the canister is what gives the exhaust the "sound" that she's looking for. Basically just ask her what style she wants, and go from there.
For an intake, same deal. If she is just interested in sound...a short ram would make the most/meanest noise. The pipe is shorter and the sound echoing off the intake has less distance to travel before it hits the atmosphere. Those can be had for $100 or less. Same with the universal canister. The axleback will be slightly more since it is car specific. You shouldn't have a problem though, since there are so many available for Civics/Integras.
Good luck.
