Default Blown Fuse

Has anyone else had a problem with the 7.5 fuse that gives power to the clock blowing out frequently? if not...does anyone know why it would be doing this?

It's probably the wires behind your stereo, didn't you have a missing wire. My guess is the wires are cut on a metal bracket behind there. Look around for cuts on the wires.

i've looked everywhere. where does the wire COME from? cause then i could towards that direction. most of the wires for the stereo come from the passenger side, like behind the glove compartment. is that were the (+) 12 volt ignition wire comes from too? there should be 2 ignition wires, and i have neither.

They go towards driver side. They actually go down, then under the carpet, i think, then along the tube frame up under the driver side dash. Kind of a pain cause there isn't much room. It's easier if you have the stereo out.

then stereo is out. i just have wires hanging out. so most of the wires come from the passengers side, but the 12 volt wires come from the driver side right?

it's probably a wire right behind the deck that gets pinched when you put it back in. All you need is a little nick in the insulation and that could touch ground to blow a fuse. There is a lot of sharp metal that makes a good ground back there.

I took that fuse out, and realized that the controls for locking/unlocking the doors didn't work.

Just run new ones to your ignition harness. Just be sure to fuse them. Can't remember colors, possibly white/yellow for 12 V constant, and Yellow for switched? Just use a meter.

About the meter. You should get a Digital Multi Meter at Radio Shack for a cheap one. You really don't need one though as a test light will suffice for most. Just don't poke anything with yellow or orange loom around it.

This will save you a lot of trouble down the road. Only 15 bucks.
