hmm....anyone know if that motor will fit in the 85 accord? i have an 85 accord (2nd gen, the 86 is a 3rd gen) but the motor is blow on my 85. it's a 1.8l engine, overheated and heat got warped on it. i'm wanting to put a new motor cause i can't sell the car for anything and it wouldn't be a bad beater car, it's in great condition besides motor being dead. if it fits, i'll take the engine.

stew, the halfshafts in my 85? i don't know, they are factory, probably old but the car was a family grocery getter so it's never been ran hard. i don't even think that it's been to redline. Probably would replace them also. I'm thinking about using that 85 either as a beater or stripping it and using it for local autox. not sure yet. I'd have to do custom brakes and suspension since htey do'nt make bolt ons for 85's, but i'm sure a small b series engine would fit in there.

Actually I was asking how the halfshafts were in the other guys 86 lxi. Those cars are very light and with a little b-series power can be pretty damn quick. Un fortunately cars around here rust out so quick we don't get any nice older cars.

I had an '83 Accord. Man that thing just wouldn't die. Almost 200,000 miles and a coolant hose sprung a leak. It was on a night that was about 20 below zero and I didn't want to be stranded out in the middle of nowhere so I kept driving until it overheated. Man I loved that car...

ya, my water pump went out, and my temp guage never showed hot, it was hovering in teh middle, the got colder right as teh motor blew and warped the head...suck.

so do you know about 2nd gen accords then? i'm thinking of racing mine but i want to do a swap. i was thinking a b or d series engine would fit in there.
