The check engine light on my car has been going on and off for the past couple of weeks. And occasionally the TCS light will come on and will not go off until I shut off the car. It was hooked up to a computer at AutoZone and they said it was the EGR valve. I haven't noticed any difference in the way the car is driving. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I know very little about cars and I don't want to get screwed when I take it to be fixed.

 

Being an 01' I assume your still under warranty? If not bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch until you get Honda to pay for it.

On the engine light, apparently there is an issue with the v-6 EGR valves and Honda has extended the warranty to 8 years or 80,000 Miles, they have a pipe kit to fix it, however, if someoene can answer the question if it's OK to drive with that code and problem? My mom's car is in the shop and the kit is on back order and I think that Honda should give her a loaner till it's in stock because as the manual states driving with the Check Engine light on for an extended period of time can damage the emissions system....
