Door vapor barrier adhesive

What's the adhesive that's used on the vapor barrier sheets on the inside of the doors? Its sticky and never dries. Thanks.

you mean like where can you buy it? i know stereo installers use it to patch holes, or jam into connectors to keep wires in there

Mine dried up. It looks like old chewed up gum now.
