Civic that acc. from 0-60 in .00030 seconds???
I got a problem with my EG Civic Hatch. Everytime I drive my Civic around my speedometer likes to jump all the way to 60mph in less then half a second then back down to Zero in less then a few thousands of a second. Yes this is pretty Got damn fast for a Civic with no engine swap but this when I'm only crusing down the street. Sometimes my car just dies at the lights or wont start up at all. Any ideas???
lol
Sorry, Im not sure what the problem could be. What have you done to the car? Maybe it is a wiring problem. Give some more details, maybe someone who actually knows stuff can help you out.

sounds to me like a bad spark plug wire. like its arcing to a ground, which would cause it to die, and would cause the speedo to jump around. check grounds, and do a tune-up (plugs&wires). i just recommend NGK stuff
Here's the poop on the speedo...
To fix it, you either need to be able to solder pretty fine (small) stuff, or have a spare cluster or speedo laying around you can cannibalize parts from.
Take the cluster out of the dash and take it apart. pull the speedo assembly itself out of the cluster. Now look at the green PCB board on the back of the speedo itself (not the flexible green thing on the back of the cluster). On mine, some of the solder joints that held the black piece in that the pins insert into were cracked (kinda confusing, but you'll see what I mean when you take it apart).
I just grabbed the PCB board from an old CX cluster I had laying around, mated it with my speedo and odometer, and put everything back together, and voila. It worked great, no more bouncing around, reading innacurately, or getting stuck at 0, and I kept my mileage as well.
Some people have had success with re-soldering all the joints on the PCB board, but I would only attempt this if you have some skill in this area.
Hope this info helps. As far as the car dying at stop lights and such... sounds like a different problem. Could be anything, seriously.

Okay here's some more info on my EG. I drive down the highway and suddenly my speedometer reads 120mph and I'm feelin all
but then I already knew that my foot didn't even stomp on the accelerater pedal so now I'm feelin
. You can feel the car slightly hesitate but not to the point where it slows the car down. I know it has to do with either my iginition system or something related to that and no my speedometer doesn't need lubricating(haha). And then when I exit and come up to a stop light it'll then die on me unless if I gently rev it while in neutral.
I got about 175,000 miles on the odometer. I just replaced the cap and rotor a few weeks ago and also replaced the old saggy spark plug wires with new ones, no it aint NGK's but their supposed to work fine like new OEM(got it at Bumper to Bumper). But thanks for the tips guys, I'll go check it out tomorrow.

well, just remember that the cheap wires will make it run worse............. you gotta bite the bullet and get good wires.
