JDM B18C or spend a lil more for the JDM B18c5???
well i was almost set on getting the JDM ITR motor for $4000, but for $1200 less i can get a JDM b18C. the b18c has 180hp right? and the jdm b18c5 has 210hp. Is that correct? well I had a 94 ls integra and a 95 gsr. and there was a little bit of difference in power, gsr was just a little faster and it was 28hp more. so will this be like the same thing between these two motors?. Well one of these motors is going in a 92 vx hatch and i was just wondering what you guys thought. thanks,Randy
oh and as for the motor, my friend just got done putting in his ITR swap in his ek last night and today he saif **** yeah!
he also used to have a mid 14sec GSR, so he says its worth it, plus a few other buddies with itr said its worth it over a b18c

It all depends on what you're doing?
If you want a good platform to start with going all motor then the JDM B18C spec R is a good choice.
Going with the JDM Sir-G is usually if you want to boost. You could also make it an all motor beast but the Spec R is just a better platform to start off with.
Happy Trails..

If spending $1200 is "just a lil more", then you already have your answer, the type R (non-c5, like you are asking). Are you planning to boost the engine, built up NA, or just mild bolt-ons?
JDM GSR has 10.6:1, same as US type R, not exactly the ideal platform for boost. Id say get the JDM GSR, civic type R pistons/cams and skunk2 manifold, walk away with a little less then if you bought the itr motor and possibly more hp.
i would definetly opt for the jdm ITR ...especially with the higher cam profile and 4.7 final drive.....
i think its soooooo worth the money......
most b18c onwers i know.....just spend the money to get their motor to be the like R..
so just get the R..and your set....

jdm b18c r works great. and it's 200 bhp, not 210. if u live in cali, i'd becareful of jdm motors...smog is a bitch now.
*edit; wait, is this for the complete changeover or just the motor?*

complete changeover, Im gonna go with the type r cause i got a 95 gsr and its quick but i wish it was much faster. I was thinking of going with ls/ turbo in the hatch but i figure this will be almost as fast and a lot more reliable. Plus i dont want a big fat intercooler for all the theives around here to see, lol.im just gonna get the motor, lower the car and inch or so,and try and go with like the itr exaust so it looks basically stock, then if i go out to the track id like to have a back up apexi n1 cat back and test pipe to throw on. anyone know if i can use the itr exaust on a 94 vx hb?I live in Seattle and dont have to pass a smog.
itr exhaust w0nt fit a 5gen hatch. i tried t0 put my m0ms st0ck muffler 0n it and it stickes 0ut hella far..might be able t0 m0dify it th0ugh n0t sure
