never been there myself, I've heard of it, but I have a hatch, not a CRX, so I have no reason to go there really.

 

hell yes...found tons of good info from some very knowledgeable people on there, helped me through my entire d16z6 swap...good info without all the bs that gets thrown around here though ht is my fav because resource.crx.org has faded away.

 

I think the site was very helpful in pointing you in the direction of some very useful information.

if i could vote, i would vote yes! it would really suck, if it never came back up! it's a great website!

 

I don't really have an oppinon, if it comes back, cool... ut if it doesn't all of its users can come here! I'm sure there ae very helpful people here as well.

 

Hey cingham, what happened to the resource anyway? I went on vacation, came back and found the site was down. I assumed it was just server trouble...

yeah, it would be nice to have it back, I was my bordum killer...

b17.... it got hacked, Steve never really fixed some of the leaks in the board and someone knew how to hack the software.... Pretty much steve shut it all down(I think the old board still works... I dont have the IP for it anymore) so he can work on it agian, He never got a chance to set up a firewall on the server, but... Im guessing thats number 1 Priority(or at least I would hope)

Steve really has no time to keep up the resource but he has done a good job considering hes got no time for it

I just thought i would jump in here to thank all of the supporters of the Resource. You'll be pleased to know that the hard drive is now in-transit via UPS, and as soon as i get it, it'll be installed, i'll throw the switch, and we'll hope for the best.

To the people who do not want to see the Resource come back, please let us know WHY? Is it the software, as crxgurlllll pointed out? Is it Steve? Is it me? Don't just vote in the shadows and not say anything... if we don't know our faults, how can we improve ?

The only way that we can make this site better, is if we get the feedback from you guys to know how to improve it. If you like something, let Steve know about it. If you dislike something, then let Steve know about it. Contrary to what some people think, Steve does actually heavily weigh the thoughts and opinions of the board members when a major descision is made. Yes, he may have a "rules with an iron fist" attitude sometimes, but he does mean well with it.

Anyway, again, thank you very much for your support of the Resource... it'll be back, better than ever when i throw the switch (hopefully... heh).

 

I honestly hated the new layout. It seemed like the genernal forum became like an OT forum. Also the new classified became useless! It was so confusing and no one hardly posted things. You also could not reply to it as well.

I'm going to give it a unless they change some things in it. I love Honda Tech, gives me everything I need and more.

BTW: I did however love the crx of the month!

 

Thanks for your comments RacerBoy. So that you know, the classifieds issues did not go unnoticed by Steve. He has made some changes to the site in the new edition, and the classifieds will now be faster and easier to use

As for the General forum becoming an OT forum, that is exactly what it is supposed to be... it is supposed to be the area for "GENERAL" chatter, picture posts, etc... This board is all tech... but for OT stuff, you have the Me3mbers Corner... on the Resource, we have a tech section as well, and our "Members Corner" just happens to be the General forum

So, how about a for the changes? hehe.

That is one thing I REALLY disliked about the resource.. the classifieds. When we had a forum for classifieds, I liked it much better and I enjoyed looking around in there (even if I didnt have any money to spend). I know there was alot of scamming going on and thats why that forum was closed, but I think we could learn something from H-T and have threads that vouch for people and keep a good seller/buyer list in our sig or profile or something..

I did like the General chat.. seriously cant wait to see it back.

i give the resource a big due to Steve P. Jones. He acts like a baby in so many ways. Thats about all i have to say. The resource use to be helpful at one point in time, but the knowledge i have gained in cars has surpasses what is shared within those forums, i come to h-t to learn more.

 

And when they did bring them back you had to scroll thru pages and pages to the last page to get to the newest Ads..... I say Steve should just fix the old board.....we dont need bells & whistles

 

It seems like most of the complaints are about the classifieds... well, Steve did change some things about it, so we'll see what it's like when it comes back

And about the "bells and whistles".... the new board is not just about frills... it is about efficiency. The new board uses MUCH less bandwidth, and server resources than the old site did. With the amount of hits it gets, if we were on the old software, it would be out of this world expensive, and also the site would move slower than it does with the new software. I don't particularly care for the new software either, but i know that it is for the better.

Well, like another person stated in this topic, the classifed should go back to what it used to be in forum mode. I could understand the scamming and all of that but that is given with any message board! I do miss however seeing the crx of the month and posts. But it seemed to me since the change, it lost a lot of its members by seeing the amount of posts?

If it does come back, then great. I hope it can now be as knowledgeable as honda tech is.
