Default LS and GSR IAC valve question

I have a 98 GSR motor and a 95 LS IAC valve. I need one for my GSR, can I make the LS one work? If not can I not use one at all and not throw a code? Or do I have to get a GSR one from Acura?

No, you'll need the gsr one, or get a skunk2 intake mani and use the ls one.

huh? if you have the sk2 mani why would you need the LS IACV sensor?

my car is throwing an IACV code... i have a 2k GSR with sk2 intake manifold.... i was gonna go to acura and just buy the GSR IACV sensor... is that the incorrect part?

LS and Type R IACV are the same, the GSR is different. If you are using the gsr one now, thats why your getting the code. If you have the skunk2, you can just use the IACV from the LS, or buy one for a type R. I have the skunk2 on my gsr head and the LS lines up perfectly.

hmmm good info. my car came with the sk2 manifold so i dunno which one is on it now... all i know is it ran fine for 3 months without throwing a code... and now it is so i guess it just went bad. how much does a new LS/ITR IACV from acura cost? is there any price differential cuz one is "type R"

hey what year LS IACV did you use? i'm at acuraautomotiveparts.net and the assembly off an ITR is part #25941 if anyone is interested... it goes for $150. ouch. is the part # for the LS exactly the same or is it different?

My friend with a GSR has the Same exact problem ... im gonna try and take his off and practically soak/spray the inside with carb cleaner and replace the ring gaskets and mount it ... ill let you know after this weekend if i can fix it ... thats about all you can do to it .. aside from buying a new one i believe
