will mpfi bolt on to a ls motor?
ok right now i got a d15 and i am looking at doing the mpfi but my plans are to put in a 90 ls motor ...will this fit together or what am i going to need when i put the ls motor in. thank you
First of all, MPFI is not a part...its the ability to run Multi Point Fuel Injection. If you already did an MPFI upgrade, of course, you can now run MPFI motors. Depending on what motor you choose, in this case an LS motor, you can simply change your ecu, distributor and a few others to make it work...
thanks. ..i currently have the dpfi in my std hatch...and i have been looking at the mpfi upgrade for a while the only thing is install...but i didnt know if the mfpi off a d and a b series where interchangable. thank you for the info
well, yes and no.
When you change your dpfi on the 1.5 to mpfi, you will then have all your wiring in place for mpfo on a d-series. When you change to an ls, you'll have to change the wiring to the distributor, and some of the sensors i believe cause when you go from d-series to b-series (ls), you cant use the same manifolds or distributor.
Good luck with it, hope all goes well
