Default distributor sensors - wiring to ecu

does it matter what order the two wires from one of the distributor sensors (cyl, crk, tdc) connect to the ecu? i mean, does it matter if you accidently flip the two wires of any one of the sensors?

Yeah it may hurt performance some or not start at all, should throw a code if backwards.
