Default 88-91 DX & 88-91 SI Head......

i was recently going to swap in a dx bottom/Si head into my 88hf. okay ive been hearing from some that the si and dx head's are identical, except for the cam, adn the manifolds and all that stuff. but as far as the head design goes, some have told me they are identical. could someone verify this for me?? or at least, if anyone knows the head cc's for the d15b2 (not d15b1....if theyre not the same???) and if the port sizes are the same as d16a6, please let me know. if the heads are the same, ill just swap in a dx, with the si int manifold/inj./ tb....etc. and use the si cam. and save the money for buying a head gasket for now. thanks for any help.

My understanding has always been that the two heads are identical. The only differences are in the cam and the valve springs.

Valve springs are the SAME, but the cam is different!

Valve springs weren't originally the same. Honda has simply discontinued producing the DX valve springs. They replaced them with the Si's.

the two heads aren't the same.. personally i wouldn't just change the cam.. i'd use the whole head. the Si head is mpfi (multi port fuel injection) as to where the dx head is dual port.. u'd get better efficiency if u used the si head. efficiency=power. and you are right... the cam lift/duration between the two are different.. go all Si
