type r valves+turbo
I am building up my b16a motor and am eventually going to go turbo. I have the chance right now to get valve job done, and port/polish. I have type r inner valve springs and gsr cams and was wondering if type r valves would be suitable for this type of application or should i go with something better like ferrea valves or whatever there called. I wont be running more than 10 lbs. boost
type-r valve springs will be fine but youll also need the retainers..also why are you going to want or get type-r springs and reatiners and then get gsr cams..gsr cams will only make power to 8000 rpm when the valves springs can take up to 8500rpm..you be doing a worthless mod IMO..the b16 valves springs will do just fine..

i chose to go with gsr cams because a lot of people said that they are really good for turbo and have better lobes than b16 cams. so your saying that type r cams are better for turbo? i did get the set of gsr cams for 75.00 so thats another reason why i decided to get them. can anybody else let me in on some opinions?

Just keep the stock valves you have, it doesnt matter, and get some Portflow inners/ITR outer springs. True the GSR cams will only breathe till 8k or so, but boost is a whole different ball game, the ITR cams have too much overlap for boost.
