ok, so i'm driving along, i use my brakes, and my brake light come on, on my gauge cluster. the one that says you have a brake light out. so i get home, check all the lights, and no lights are out. i notice this happened after i had taken the middle light in the windshild, out of that holder, and now it wont go in all the way. wat my question is, does the brake light on the dash light up when it notices the middle brake bulb is not there, cuz it keeps falling down, and hangs in my trunk. any thoughts on wat the problem is are welcome. btw, if it matters, i have a 4th gen. read below to see car specs. tahnks in advance

hmm....from my car, when i take out the 3rd brake like i get the indicator. also, did you check to make sure that no BRAKE lights are out? i mean, if you just looked at tail lights that's ok, but you have to make sure no brake lights are out. a brake light can be out with the tail light still working. I'd say take out all the bulbs and wipe them off and put them back in. sometimes that's all it needs. I had to do that to my friend's bmw because they were a little old so i just took them out and put them back in then it worked fine.

how do u figure brake fluid? in the owners manual, it says it comes on when a brake light is out...not a brak light OR low brake fluid. but when i was driving to school today, the light was off, after i had used the brakes a few times, then at a stop light, i used brakes, and light came on....so iunno wats up.

so why don't you just take 2 seconds and check it. one of the lights means the brake fluid is low, but I forgot if it is the one thats for the e-brake, or if its the tail light one.

well, if it is the brake fluid, then it would be for the tail lights, cuz it comes on when i use my foot brake, it doesn't come on when i use my e-brake. and besides, isn't the ebrake cable driven, not fluid driven? least thats wat i thought. =\

there is no light indicator on a 4th gen accord showing brake fluid. the only thing for brake fluid is looking in the resevour. the ebrake light only comes on when you pull the ebrake and it's a manual cable brake to the rear calipers so it has no fluid or anything. the rear brake light indicator is only for the tail lights that come on with pressing the foot brake, that's it.
like i said, take all the bulbs out and clean them. that worked for my sis's 91 accord and i had to do it on my 91 accord also.

no really, one of them is brake fluid. I don't see how hard it would be for you to at least check it?

Hey Starrman85,

While we're on the subject of lights, I'd like to ask you some questions about the Sylvania Silverstars. I did a search on them and found a thread where you said that you've installed them recently. I was looking for something that lit up the road a little better and I just might give these a try. How do they work for you? I'm not concerned about the color/color temperature, but would rather have something that gave off more lumens. I was also wondering if you can post some pics of those bulbs on your car since I have the same generation. Thanks.
