a new b16 or no...?
Anyways, do a compression test and fix the oil leaks/ and or problems with the engine before you do anything like turboing it... if the motor is a turd replace it.
I say you should figure out how much it'll cost you to fix the motor, and how much you can get a new one for. cause if it wont cost much to fix, do that. but if you can get a new one that hasn't been driven to hard, you'll be better off going with that one to eliminate any other problems you may have with your "driven hard" crx.
how much money do you have to do this anyways?

Fix the head (assuming it isn't BADLY damaged) and get a b18c1 block with pr3 pistons... presto... you crx will be super again!
Jee, can you tell what I want to do my car!

hell yeh for the amount of cash you will spend on fixing the slow *** b 16 and turbo save your money for ls vteh you well have more fun and less problems and mybe more power
As far as what to do. Instead of buying a different motor (you never know what shap it's in) spend the money rebuilding yours. You could get aftermarket rods and pistons, have the head gone through then save up some cash for a turbo and you will have a built bottom end that can take it. Boost away. also I'd put a turbo b16 up against an N/A ls/vtec anyday but that's another matter
