I painted my CTR lips which are made out of abs plastic...
But that paint not bonding 2 it at all. I used a bit of primer but it did not seem to work. Could it be because I did not use enuf primer or just not enough coats of black paint??? If I wanted to re-do the whole thing could I just put primer over the paint thats already there and go from there or would I have to sand the whole thing down?
From what it sounds like you did not prep the surface properly. Any plastic or urethane products has to be cleaned before painting or priming. There are mold release agents on them. You will notice that if you spray water on them the water will bead up. What you want to do is go to an automotive paint supply store and get some plastic prep. You take this and a gentle scuff pad and scrub the hell out of it until the water sheets of with no beading.
Now that you have it painted you are goin to have a tough time to get it right. I would take down the paint with 320 grit sandpaper. Make sure not to go into the plastic. Then I would prime it and paint it. Make sure you use plenty of flex agent in your paint mix. Good luck.

i didn't use primer, all i did was take one of those sponges u use to wash dishes and went over the surface a few times...then i just painted it flat black, used about 3/4th of the can, so far everything is holding up fine, drove to NYC for new years and the paint is still intact
