1st gen suspension products
i recently purchased a 87 crx si, and it has stock front struts and stock rear shocks with some intrax springs. when i test drove it , i noticed that the shocks and struts were gone. im not really going for performance i just want a controlable car. so i was thinking tokico or i believe its kyg rear shocks with ground control coilovers, and same front struts. any info on this set up would be appreciated, or an alternate set up would be great. is it possible to purchase an adjustable panhard rod, or would it be cheaper and simpler to make my own. ive found some other suspension parts , so im good with everything else im just curious if this set up would be good , or what others are running. thanks for the help.

They have alot of suspension stuff... but.... at a very hefty price. Ground Control has Shock/Struts cheapest.... its hard to find them on Groupbuy though.
I recomend AT LEAST a Tokico Blue, there pretty damn inexpesive, non adjustable though. Those intrax springs suck IMO... I hate them on my 85 Si.
OPM has an adjustable Panhard, but it keeps going up in price.... I think the last time I checked it was around 175... maybe more.
If your gonna lower for looks(or at all)..... do this to your front strut when you get them.... get a dremel, grind off the brakeline bracket, slide the shock lower into the Knuckle to get some travel back or you and mr. bumpstop will be quite the best friends. Remember to zip tie that brake line to the shock.. keep it from getting ripped up. If you want to up grade torsion bars, but dont want anything super stiff.... 4wd Wagovan bars of the same erra work also..... the 2WD are shorter so dont bother with them.

thanks for the quick reply. ill look into the ground control products. yeah the brakeline bracket is still attached to the stock ones so it has no travel, kinda bumpy, that was gonna be my next question. so thanks again.

i had ground control rears with tokicos all around on an 87 Si. it handled well for what it was i thought. bigger torsions woulda definitely been nice.
and i'd just make your own adj. panhard bar if you have the means...not much to them.

I have Tokico Illuminas all around, with Tokico springs on back. I have the OPM camber (which I need to install), which also give you about an inch more travel. torsion bar upgrade to 23mm will help with a B swap. you really son't want more than 1" drop with 1g CR-X/3g Civic; the ride sucks and you won't get off the bump stops. it's a great car, just not a lot of parts available.
