Default Rotating Azenis, your thoughts...

I have about 5000 miles on them and they really don't show much wear yet between the front and rear. I have been pretty mean to them, 1 HPDE at LimeRock, many smokey burn outs both on the track and the q/mile strip, and lot of fast driving.

So my question now will be easier to answer since you have some idea how I drive.
The question is Should I rotate them asap seeing how they don't yet show wear or wait a little more till the difference is more pronounced?

Please keep this in the ITR forum due the fact I would like to know from Azenis wearing R owners

I'd probably wait to see a noticible difference. You could use a penny and your thumbnail to measure.

Are you going to have any organized events w/ R Speed at Lime Rock this year?
I'm thinking of going to the R Expo, but I haven't decided if I want to drive that far. Lime Rock is much closer.

I wouldn't see why it would hurt. Just make sure that you pay careful attention to the characteristic of the car. Worn tires in the rear and nice grippy tires in the front is not a very good street friendly combination.

Are you running these tires daily? The thought of running around town in this cold weather frightens me.

Keep an eye on the wear pattern. Be extremely careful if you're using these tires during the winter. Extremely cold weather + AZENIS is not a good combo..

I'm afraid the "next" time R-Speed will goto Limerock will be on Nov 2003.
We usually go (together) with NASA Northeast and looks like their next track event at Limerock is in 11/03.

You should try to see if you can make it to the Expo. I can tell you that this year's Expo is really NOT that far away (only 6.5 hrs from ny). Also, when you travel with 8+ ITR on the highway together.....hmm...that is one of the coolest thing to do

Last year we had 8 ITR together for 13 hrs to goto Expo2....it was a long drive but I was really enjoy it
Btw.... some R-speed member (include myself) will goto VIR in Feb, feel free to ask me if you're interest

rotate and re-balance tires every 3000 miles, it pays off in the long run, i just cross mounted my s-03's at 30K, i expect at least 50K from these - that inludes plenty of burnouts..

As for the tires in the cold, I kinda like slipping all over the joint when turning, it keeps me alert and fresh

As for the tires, I just might be in the garage tomorrow to rotate those bad boys.

Thanks for the advice.
