Default Replacing or Relocating AC/Heat Controls in 96-98 Honda Civic?

Has anyone ever tried or know how to (if its possible) to replace or relocate the AC/Heat controls in the 96-98 Honda Civic to give more room for LCD screen or a cd/dvd head unit? I really hate the way the 96-98 Honda civic AC/Heat controls look and i would like to make them something more like the 2000 Civics. I know it sounds stupid but has anyone done it or even know if its possible? thanks a lot

yea you can move them down to the slot right behind the cupholder. look almost factory there but its an annoying place to have them. esp when you have drinks in the cupholders. also you won't be able to get the temp slighter all the way over to full heat.
