You can lower on stock bars no problem... its just the lack of travel that kills you.

Optimal setup for the front - Shortened/Revalved Konis from OPM, 23mm Tbars(if you can sorce them out, OPM is getting low on these smaller ones, some pop up on ebay now and then), Poly bushings, stock front sway bar

Optimal Rear - Shortened/Revalved Konis, Ground Control Coil overs(around 350lbs spring for street), ST rear sway bar, OPM adj panhard rod.

Problem with the above set it up is, the shocks will run you around the 1400$!!!! Torsion bars can be had for around 200, bushings are cheap, under 90 bucks shipped, GC coil overs run about 200 or so straight from GC, Rear Sway bar is around 150 on NopiOnline... of coarse this set up will run you well into 2k just for a great suspension set up, if your looking to run AutoX then a set of camber/caster plates are like 250 from OPM... RedpepperRacing.com is working on a set right now.

Now, this is set up is cheaper, but probably the best way to inexpensively lower your car.

Front - Tokico Illuminas(or Koni Yellows if you wish to get them rebuilt and shortened later), Civic Wagovan 4wd Torsion bars, stock front sway bar, Poly bushings, Camber plates.

Rear - Illuminas or Konis, Ground COntrols

YOu can scrimp non the rear bar, but it isnt that expensive. Panhard really inst needed unless you plan on slamming the car lown as hell.

There is a trick with these old hondas and the struts in teh front, the brake line braket that is welded to the strut can be ground off, via dremel (then zip tie the brake line to the strut). Then you can slide the shock lower into the knuckle, the knuckle can hold the strut so dont worry about it slipping. theres about a inch of travel to bet gained that way, and another inch or more thru Camber plates.

Trust me, I know about lack of shock travel, my HPs are bottomed out and I dont have the funds to really do anything else suspension wise, and I pretty much killed them before I ever knew about the shock mods. Right now Im worried about having a rust free shell. Any more questions come to Redpepperracing.com or IM me.

Suspension technologies still offers an adjustable torsion bar for that model also. I believe they sre 27mm diameter ones. There are a few other companies making the torsion bars for them still. You just have to contact them. Pacesetter does too if I'm not mistaken.

NOPI.com sells a whole line of Suspension for the older hondas. Check them out and see what they have.
