i think its a tapered filter with a 4 inch end where it meets the intake arm. does k&n make a filter to fit this?

I am going to be checking with APEX'i to see if they have a Power Intake filter that will fit...

I'm sure K&N makes a filter that will fit, they have so many applications, one of them has to be the same size as the J's intake.

The J's I've seen up at AJR all have blitz SUS filters on them.

However, my dad's car gained 7whp switching from metal/screen filter (blitz) to a paper K&N.

Metal filters
Paper filters

Not only that...the metal screen filters are crap for filtering.

They will, but be prepared to part with your wallet for one.

The Blitz filters were designed for higher flowing turbo cars. For naturally aspirated, I think it would be better to have some sort of funnel down the center, like the Apexi' filter, or blocked off like AEM/K&N. On the Blitz filters, its open and flat on top. It's pretty much like driving with no air filter on.....air is just shooting its way thru, instead of being directed in.

My dads vehicle is a 422rwhp supra, and the blitz filter was choking it even then. Its still sitting in a box in the garage. The K&N performed substantially better over the overpriced SUS filter.

If our 5yo scanner didn't crap out on us I'd scan up the comparison charts. I'll see what I can dig up though.

Yup it will fit.

I would also like the apexi but it's such a rip!

Hmm, that's weird. Most of the supras we have here make better power with the Blitz filter. Then again, they're all just about 650hp or more. I don't think the Blitz SUS filters are choking it (unless it's really dirty). I can see a K&N or any air filter make more hp than Blitz, HKS, Apexi', etc not because it flows more air, but design. If you're running the Blitz filter without the air horn, then it might not flow as well.
