JDM front question for those who have it...
My question is rather simple. Would you do it again? Its a rather pricey purchase... and I'd like to hear the feelings of those who have done it towards how much of a worthy purchase it is.

if you simply flip the latch on a 3g teg, what about the cable? do you need to go get the 2g teg cable? where is that cable too? NHB 00-1526
After someone asked my friend why he spent money to make his car look like an Accord he didn't like it anymore haha

i don't think i would do it again for all the money i spent on the HID conversion and the labor to install and paint. i would have had a really really fast motor maybe even two.
I would only get it if my front end was damaged in an accident. The cost to repair/paint is more or less the same. I would not do it if I just had $5K burning a hole in my pocket. It is nice when the previous owner does it before you though.
Assuming the car is damaged and since I know exactly how to install a new front end now, and exactly which parts I need, absolutely! My car was partly wrecked so the OEM parts where going to cost nearly just as much as the JDM ones.
Although...I'm never going to blindly order one of these so called "complete kits" again. A kit that doesn't come with a proper hood latch, hood latch cable, H3 bulbs, H1 bulbs, and a hood emblem, is about as complete as a we-todd-did event with no beer. When you order one of these kits you have to make sure you get every part like you're a weapons inspector in Irak.
off topic but.. damn, dont you guys hate that "cali" conversion kit. it looks UUUGLY. (the conversion that makes ur teg look like it has accord headlights)
I think the only way I'd ever do the JDM thing is if my insurance ended up paying for it... but ONLY then it would be to get a CF front lip, as those things give me a redwood of a boner.
I love the way mine looks! It isnt too flashy like a shopping cart wing, but it still attracts some attention. I would definatly do it again!
As fas as the cable goes, buy a mid 90s 4 door accord hood latch cable. Little to no mods required.

obviously the front end are only for a particular kind of person.
some people believe it or not even with itr's don't want to spend money on the motor. definitely a shame. but that's just how it is.
$5000 for a jdm motor installed and painted is expensive for a non-hid. i've seen non hid used kits selling for roughly $2000 here by reputable people. it will not cost $3000 to install and paint unless you're getting jerked.
but it will be anywhere in between $3000-$4000.
like mentioned above, it's a great option to pursue if front end work is needed.

I would not even do it if I had insurance paying for it. It looks nice, but not nice enough to warrant spending all that money on cosmetics/appearance.
I don't see what is wrong with the USDM front, and don't tell me you all are being 'original'. It isn't very original, seeing as all of Japan has this front and a good number of US integras also have this front.

hahaha, thats classic
I have it because an old lady hit my right front fender and mangled it and knocked my whole U.S bumper out of alignment
i just used my insurance money to get the fornt end
other wise i would not have a jdm front end right now
but i wish i never got hit
Front end is cool and everything but I would not do it again.
I'd build the motor instead
Its about what you want. the R motor is fast enough stock so you can spend your money on looks to. And the R motor has so much potential you can build it up
Yellow Kahuna who still sounds confused

I think for some people, the USDM front is hideous with the 4 small lights and the way the hood meets the front bumper. For me, I like both front ends. If I were to be in a wreck where my USDM front end was badly damaged and All-State cut me a phat check that would pay for all expenses, then I would def. get the JDM front end. When I graduate college and start my job, more than likely I will get the JDM front end installed any b/c I love the way it looks.
Some people say it looks like an Accord, but I dont understand where they get that from. If it looks like anything, it looks like the Gen2 Integra. Remember, evolution. I guess if you really think about it, the USDM front end looks like the Jaguar X-type...
