Default just not my day, got sent the wrong cam gear I think

I've my motor all torn apart, doing the timing belt, water pump, etc. go to put my cam gear on(skunk2) and realize that it doesn't fit. I bought one that was on e-bay for a f22, even though I have a f23. all the companies list them as the same part number.

the thing is this. the skunk2 cam gear is keyed so that there is an indentation on the camgear. the OEM one is keyed so that there is a bump out on the cam gear. does that make sense. I don't have a digi cam or id take a pic.

anyway, if you put a cam gear on your car, which way was yours keyed? oh and what motor? thanks.

My F22 had a seperate key. Are you missing the key? I think I even have a spare.

[bewilderment] KEY? [/bewilderment]

whats it look like? I guess that if you had a little piece of metal shaped like this [] it would work.

It was supposedly NIB on e-bay but when I got it, it wasn't in a skunk2 box, and no instructions or anything. the gear was still sealed in plastic though. never saw anthing that looked like that in there, but i suppose I could have missed it in with the styrofoam peanuts box is long gone at this point.

If you had an extra, i'd throw some cash your way to send it to me

That looks like it would work. What do you want for it?

you sure the key does not come out of the stock gear?
