Well, the fuel system doesn't pump any fuel if the engine isn't turning. As I recall, I cranked the starter until it caught (takes a little longer than normal due to the need to repressurize the system). Then get right out and make sure it's not spraying.

 

I'm not sure if that acutally turns the fuel pump on or not... I once used my multimeter on the fuel pump power wire and it didn't become hot when I turned the key to the II position. iirc, it's power is controlled by the ECU, so I think you might need to actually start the car.

 

I'm pretty sure that's what I did. It was some time ago, so I'm a little fuzzy ~

 

just turn it on and off a few times then it should start up right away, not that big of a deal. the pump turns on when u put the car in the on position, the engine doesnt have to be running.

 

Yep turn the car to the on position, that turns on the fuel pump. Sometimes you can hear it, if you got good ears.
