help on head work please
i am running a 91 LS and am about to put some crower dual valve springs and Ti retainers in.. is it hard? i have never done this. do i need any special tools? any tips/ tricks would be helpful . thanks guys.
you'll also need a feeler gauge to get the correct tolerances for the rocker on the valve. In case you don't know what it is its like thin pieces of metal at a certain thickness and you just slide it down and tighten or loosen until appropriate tolerance is obtained.
I would not recomend you doing the job if this is your first time at it.
For the spring removal. you will need a valve spring compressor.
there is just too much to do for someone w/o experience and way too many ways to screw it up. I have done it a bunch of times and replacing the valve springs is a full days work. you have to work on one cylinder at a time so you don't accidentally drop a valve into the cylinder. plug all possible holes a keeper could fall into, etc.
