Default 3rd G Prelude Distributor Questions...

I have heard runors that the 3rd G Prelude Distributor will fit the EW seris heads from the 1st G CRX motors - can anyone verify or acknowledge this? I am trying to upgrade the non OBD ECU to an OBD1 so I can retune the ECU for the motor I have built. I have called the local wrecking yards and I am having trouble finding one to look at.

BWT - What specific years were the 3rg G Prelude manufactured in?

Any help or insights would be appreciated.

3rd gen preludes are 88-91. are you sure you have the ew motor? i thought the crx si's were d15's and the civic si's were the ew motor? why not just try to use a newer d15 distributor from the 88-91 crx's or possibly the 92-95 obdI civics.

I am p[ositive that I have the EW motors...they are the only block that is allowed in our class in SCCA. I pickep up a D16 distributor and compared it to the Prelude distributor this weekend - there is an extra sensor in the D15 - it is near the bottom of the shaft and has a single lobe. All of the other sensors were the same - a four lobe at the top and a 24 lobe underneath it.
