Hey I am replacing axles on an 89 CRX Si and when I went to go get the axles there are 2 different axles with different number of splines.....is there only one number of splines or do I have to wait until I take off the old axles to find out????

 

Your post is confusing. Did you go someplace and ask for axles and they said there were 2 different kinds? If that's what happened I suggest you go someplace else. There is only one kind of axle for the 89 Si. HF/STD are the only ones with different spline count so don't get those. You should be able to use axles from ANY other 4g other than the STD/HF.

 

si axles have 26 splines the others are 23

 

Actually the Si, DX, LX and EX all have 26 splines. The HF and STD have 23 splines. This is on the outer joint. The inner joints are the same.

 

Good thats what I needed to know when I told them I needed axles for an 89 crx si they asked me if it was 26 or 23 splines so my question was answered my Si has 26 spline......thanks all
