Use a b series vtec distributer. GSR/ITR/B16.

OBD1 has two plugs for the distributer, and OBD2 has one.

ok guys the harness has a rectangle plug and the dis that we got (we were told it was a 97gsr) has a square plug with a diffrent number of wires.
So either the dis we got sent is wrong or the b series use square plgs on there dis rather than rectangle. can anyone clear this up?

It shouldn't matter if b or d series, the plugs for distributor is the same. Obd1 is 2 plugs for the distributor whereas obd2 is 1 plug for the dizzy.

well come to find out the plugs on an ex and a si of the same year (obd2) are diffrent. The gsr also has an extra wire on its plug. i don not know what for though. So i just pulled all the guts out of the 2000 ex diz minus the rotor shaft and put it all in the gsr one. now it all plugs up and looks like it should. any one know what that green wire on the side of the ignitor is for?

The plugs for d and b series distributers are the same, only difference is between obd1 and obd2. OBD1 incorporates another plug for the 12v ign. switched on and rpm signal, while the OBD2 plugs have them all in the same plug. If you have a 2000 EX harness, just use any obd2 b series vtec distributer (96+) and it will plug right into the ex harness.

i have a 2000ex dis and a 2000si in my hands and the plugs are diffrent. the ex has 2rows of 4 wires=8 total. the si has 3rows in the first are 4 wires, second has 4 holes but only 3 wires and in the third row are 2 wires.

If that is the case, either you don't have an OBD2 engine harness or somebody sliced in an OBD1 distributer plug because that plug you are describing is an OBD1 style distributer plug, only it's 2 rows w/ 4 wires on the top row, and 3 on the bottom. The Si plugs you're describing is an OBD2 style plug. So you have an OBD1 EX and an OBD2 Si.
