Lately we have all been overcomed by the Images on HT of vehicles which have been slolen and raped of their soul. I'll tell ya first hand that there is no feeling like stepping outside to start your prized work of art, only to find it GONE! Some Sick and Fu-ked up Losers stole your precious Babe In the wee hours of the morning.

My advice, Render your car undriveable. A simple few steps of PREVENTION can spare you a lifetime of grief and sorrow
A few 2 dollar switches attached to the fuel pump and starter, stratigicaly placed in your car can definately keep a Scumbag from driving away With your hard Earned.

Alarms are pretty much useless to the pros.

Clubs and steering wheel locks are good means of visual deturants but again to the seasoned piece of Sh-t they mean nothing.

Cable wire your hood locked! Everyone these days is running carbon fiber hoods and they scream take me and what is dwelling underneath em? Don't just pin them closed. Cable wire your babe locked shut.

Last but certainly not least is keep all valuables out of your car. Im a photographer and almost always have several hundreds of dollars worth of equipment on me so It comes REGARDLESS, so ive invested in good bags.

I never lock my doors because Idd rather let some *** to fumble in my car than repair a butchered lock, thrashed paint or pay for a shattered tinted window.

I know we all love tunes as we drive but I just have a portable CD or MP3 that i can Jam to.

If criminals wants a car bad enough theyll get it no mattter what you do. But these are a few steps I take to prevent hardship.

If thieves really want the car or stuff off of it they are going to get. I know a guy who had his car ripped off before he even finished his motor swap. The thieves just towed it away.

 

this is the buisness that i'm in. To install a remote starter, you have to know how to hot wire a car. I spend most of my day doing installs, but we are frquently in meetings on all the new theft systems in cars today (some are pretty crazy). in the end, the car makers spend x amount of dollars on security features, when the company that i work for spends x amount of dollars to break those features (you never win). We have a product called autotrax (works like gps, only better), you can track your car any time/where via the net. Even if the theif cuts your battery wires, it stays active for max ten hours (by this time the cops will know where the car is). If you lend a friend your car and tell him/her not to leave town with it, and that person does, you will get an e-mail. So many cool features.

a lot of times, though, a tow vehicle is used to yank our pride and joy.

To all you theives out there that might be reading this to stay on top of the latest tricks and tips..... let me ask you something. Is what's in my/somebodies car worth your life? Imagine I damn near sleep with my Glock (handgun) and if I hear the slightest bit of noise, especially at night I don't hesitate to arm myself and investigate. I work too hard to have some bit-- a-- mother------ to come and try and take any of my stuff.

Now just imagine if I came out and caught you in or tampering with my car, you then find yourself staring down the barrel of my gun at a 40 cal. black talon with your name all over it. Now I'm a law abiding citizen so I wouldn't shoot you unless you gave me a reason to (i.e. trying to run, reaching for your own piece, etc. etc.) but I damn sure would hold you at gun point until the authorities came and had their way with you. What would you do in this instance.... and I think that's going easy on you.... I could actually put one in you and say I was afraid for my life or thought you were reaching for your own gun and then it would be self-defense and also the end of you........

So next time the thought crosses your mind, that you just might want to rip somebody off,,, ask yourself......Is it really worth your LIFE? Because if there is one thing I hate in life is a theif.....

And to the rest of us law abiding citizens.... just imagine if we lost this last few forms of defense.... our politicians are trying to do this to us.... by adding all of these new gun control laws.... when actually they're just hurting all the law abiding citizens/legal gun owners.... I mean come on think about it, if someone is going to commit a crime do you think he really cares about the gun control laws..... so please please please think about this next time you go to vote.....

 

it costs about 500-700 canadian (isn't that like a dollar US )+ comes with a remote starter and of coarse you have a monthly payment. You have the option of getting an e-mail if the car moves, so if someone tows it, within 15 seconds the e-mail is sent. Even if for some reason the satelite losses the signal, it will remeber the las place the signal was picked up. You can even monitor speed if the car is lent to someone.

It depends on what you want to monitor, goes from $15 (basic) to $45 (full load)
monthly of coarse. I guess it comes down to how much your sweetness is worth to you. We can even monitor your seat belt to see if you were wearing it in an accident. Imagine the future.

 

I wish it was legal to shoot theives. I think it would be a pretty good deterrant(sp?).

Around here you dont really have to worry about getting your car stolen just the items inside your car. I have no big stereo system so I dont have to worry very much.

 

If i ever caught someone trying to steal my car....i wouldnt kill them because that would be letting them off too easy.

instead, they will have the crap beaten out of them by me and anyone else that i can find (everyone in hawaii hates car theifs and will beat down on anyone even if its not their car) and also have all of their nails ripped off (must be very painful)

Its all about waking up and seeing some White GSR parked next to my hatch at 4 am. Luckily I scared them off after seeing them **** with the drivers door... I ran out with my rifle, They left and Theives have not come back. (KNOCK KNOCK)

if you want a nice flashy ride.. learn to park where you can alwayas see it, learn to park it in a garage or if you can't do that park it in your drive way with car's parked perpendicular to yours

toronto's pretty big on the car thefts lately there's been car jackers taking old ladies in suv's at gun point.. but 1 thing we don't have... guns.. usually a knife or some sort of blunt object.

Is it worth taking a life or losing yours for a car? yes you worked hard for it.. but you forgot that every month or semi anually you pay for insurance.. you won't get your sweety back.. but you can start up a new car and love it as much as you did your old one..

I cant even begin to tell you how much I hate thieves. 2 of my friends car got stolen 2 days apart here in dallas, the authorities are a bunch of useless over paid asses. Its not all about the money in our cars, if your a person like me that hates to let anyone touch there car you know what I am talking about. I have locking hood pins, clutch lock, toggles, 800 alarm that pages me, a doberman that scares me even sometimes, crazy parents that pack heat, and I park 10 feet from my room door and I still am ready to wake up one night and have to get real wild on some *******. One of my friends got her car stolen at work in the middle of the day with all glass windows where she works, it happens that qiuck. Dirty bastards!!!

 

Dude...I hate theives too..dont get me wrong..they have taken me twice. But honestly...Is your car really worth shooting someone over? Shooting some 16 yr. old kid who it just going to steal your radio? Watching him die in your driveway..bleeding in front of you. Possibly begging after you shot for you to save him or slowly crying for his family.

Is that really worth youre car?

I really really hate theives. REALLY!...but damn. No car is worth the life of another human. If you think it is you are seriously disturbed.

Superhatch, I respect your opinion I really do. The only thing is, although it may be a drastic move, that is one of the few effective forms of detterant left today. I mean I do have an alarm, 90% of the time I park it in the garage and all of that. Yes, I do have insurance, but to me. I pay premiums in case I wreck into someone/something not to protect me against some a--hole that wants to get something for nothing. And if as you state it some little 16 year old was laying in my driveway bleeding because he was trying to violate me, then it's his parents that has failed him not me or society, again this is just my opinion and you are entitled to yours. Kids these days don't deserve any special privleges, the crimes they commit get more and more serious everyday.... take for instance John Lee Malvo who they now think is the main trigger man in all 10 D.C. sniper murders (and me being a family member of a victim of a homicide I know first hand what effect it has on entire families) or the two in colorado who think it's cool to go and shoot up their high school because a few people made fun of them or they weren't par of the in crowd!!! and the list goes on and on... I mean I understand that those are lives and this is just about a vehichle........ but this madness has got to stop somewhere....

Let's take for instance states such as AZ or if I'm not mistaking TX where it is legal to carry around an EXPOSED firearm on your persons. You see a guy that you know is carrying a large sum of money, if you saw that he was packing wouldn't you think twice before trying to rip him off?

Whatever happend to "do unto others as you would like done to you" or " don't do the crime if you can't do the time/face the consequences....

Oh I agree, It would be alot better just to beat the **** out of him and let the cops go from there, but we live in such a messed up world that I would probly catch charges for assualting a minor and be put in jail myslef. Removeable steering wheel. Ever since I got this I feel a lot safer about the places I park. It's a bit of a hassle lugging a steering wheel around sometimes, but the peace of mind is worth it.

I used to always disconnect the fuel pump, it actually prevented my car from being taken, even tho my rear hatch is almost completely bare, dumasses could've just looked over their shoulder to see that it wasn't connected.

 

no offence to anyone, but from what i've noticed from US MEDIA, and reading posts.. that Americans are naturally Paranoid... they think someone is always out to get them.. do you really need to havee a gun to give yourself some waht of a false sense of security?

i don't know a single person that owns a gun, or has ever seen one, other then on a police officer... you guys haven't heard of the hospital massacure in Montreal? where a psychotic man killed 12 women? or the pig farmer that abducted 20 women killed them and burried them in his pig farm? yes we all have our mass homicides and daily gang shootings but does that mean because it happend to them... you can do it to them?

FFS my cousin died by a shot in the head because he was playing a videogame near a doorway of a restaurant when a 15 year old kid tried to rob the restaurant?

quick question how reliable is the system? what happens if they put the car in one of those containers? they kind they put on big rigs and big *** ships? can it track through those? like everyone else has been saying. if thieves really want it, theyll take it, no matter what.

To answer your question in one word.......... YES!!

I'm sorry if you think I'm disturbed but the truth of the matter is, I probably am! I don't care if he cries for his mommy or kisses my shoes after I have shot him, I guaranteee that noone, let me repeat, noone will fukk with you or your car after that one incident. I welcome thieves to my house but I guarantee they won't leave on their own accord.

 

we can still track it. Even if for some reason we loose the signal, it will take a while for this to happen (by then the cops will probably have got the car back) and if the signal has been lost we know where it was last seen. The first time we installed one of these (in my bosses VR6) we "forgot" to attach one of the gps wires (on purpose for a test, 'cause we all doubted the systems performance) and within 14 minutes of him getting on the 401 (toronto) he was stopped by 8 (no ****) OPP
(Ontario provincial police) cars and taken out of his car at gun point (it took him like 20 minutes to explain that it was his product and the car wasn't stolen). He was REALLY pissed. They did give him a speeding ticket 'cause through our tracking system they knew that he was driving 140 kms for those fourteen minutes.
They had to drive 160 kms to catch him. The system is good, better that boomerang. The great thing about autostart (company i work for) is that all testing, making of the product, and installs are done here, so anytime i want our new products to do something, i just ask the engineers to make a new chip.
I also get to test all new products in my car. (i have a sick alarm/starter combo in my car now with 2 way pager confirmation LCD remote and 2000 feet of range)
