does RPM'S show correctly? if not, where on the tach does about 7000 show? i've got a sohc vtec in a 91 si hatch running the pr3 dohc vtec ecu(well not running yet -still in shop) need to know where to NOT go past on the tach

its fine... I cant quite make out your questions.. but if you have an si cluster it revs up to 8 or 9k.. (its been so long since I have driven my ef).. if you are still unsure then get an aftermarket tach and wire it from your distributor.
I've been using my stock cluster since I did the swap in '00. It redlines at 8k, so I shift when I run out of numbers.
Each tach is a little different, the engine tends to outrun the tach in the lower gears, but take it to fuel cut once and you'll then know how high you can rev it.

well the pr3's feul cut out is 8k- right? well i've got a sohc vtec -don't need to take that up to 8k. i'm tryin to find out how the pr3 will control the stock si ecu -for example say a sir cluster reads 6k on the very top of the cluster -but say a stock si cluster shows like 4500 at the top the rpms are spreak out different-the easyiest way, i guess, would be to see where vtec kicks while looking at the cluster....the pr3's vtec is at what rpm? 5600?5700? anyone know..please let me know.
