Opinions needed
HI, just wondering what yalls opinion on this.
Well, I have managed to save $3500 that i put aside just for my ride. I have a 91 STD pretty much stock except for I/E. I want a fast street car since its my daily driver and im tired of getting charged up by other imports and not been able to do anything about it. I'm thinking b16 since I think i'll be one of the only ones with it in my area. What do yall recommend? And is 3500 enough if I go the B16 route?

3,500 is enough for a b16. since you have a std you need to change everything. If you haven't done a swap (you said you would be the only one in your area) you might want to stay with a d-series (full zc swaps go for less than $1,000 shipped) and turbo the sucker. Then you'd be the only hybrid with a turbo to boot. And homemadeturbo is a good site.

i wouldn't
get the b16
with $3500 you could put a really nice one together
$3500 will get you a fresh LS/VTEC motor from us with new high compression bottom end with a cable B16 trans, VTEC ECU, B series conversion mounts, shift linkage, new timing belt, new head gasket, new oil pan gasket, new oil pump, CTR pistons in the block.
This will rip on many street Imports out there. this exact setup has gone 13.0 on one of the CRX's we worked on.

Get an ls swap and turbo it, I did mine setup for way less than 3500. I ran a 14.5 with stock ls, I never had a problem stock for stock beating b16s, there's no replacement for displacment, go boost more bang for your buck.

Yeah, the 14.5 was with a completely stock ls swap form a 92 integra with 115k on it. I use place mounts and cross member for the install but it was stock and full interior. I see your in tx if you need some help with your setup email me I do swaps and custom turbo kits all the time.
ok this sort of topic has been discussed numerous times. you will get opinions from a to z. search around the archives to get more info and then decide on what you want to do. an educated decision is always the best decision.
