Default 92-95 SI/EX tranny in VX? (i searched)

hey gang.

Do you guys happen to know if a 92-95 SI/EX tranny would fit in a 92 VX with stock motor?? I just heard that the trannys that come with the motors other than the SI and EX are complete crap.
Curious because I'm going to change the clutch soon and resurface the flywheel, and i plan on having this stock motor till it blows (which is gonna be a long time from now) so was wondering if that tranny would fit and make it a lil more fun...
thanx guys.

Yes, it bolts right up. They use the same clutch and everything. With this tranny your gas mileage will noticably decrease.

But the ability to pass school buses will increase

I always liked the fact my vx would cruise in 3rd, 4th, and 5th

gas milage will decrease!?! aw man...that stinks...i liked the mpg i got from my VX...hmmm...so how much do SI/EX trannies go for?
It'd probably be easier for me if i got the SI/EX tranny cuz when i change the clutch during the summer, i can get the used tranny all set up with a new clutch and a resurfaced flywheel and take my time, and still be able to use my car to go to work..and then just drop the old tranny and bolt up the new one..it wont take more than a day to do....

do you guys think it would be worth it?

You can find them for around $200, or less. Try ebay, or HT Classifieds.

If at all possible try and find a whole sohc vtec swap before then. I got mine 2 years ago for $500 which is about what you could find them for today. You will notice gains from the tranny swap but you will notice big gains in the whole motor swap.
