In the trunk of my '91 Accord Ex is a compartment that I can remove on the right side of the trunk panels, to the right of where the cover is for the taillight. I was wondering what is that in there and can I remove it? It looks like a jack but I'm not sure.

yup it's the scissor jack, it's probably tightened so that it doesn't rattle around, but if you turn the bolt at the top you can loosen it. THe other little plastic covers, on the back are access to the trunk lights that aren't on the trunk lid.
