Upgraded my Intercooler, pics
I did have a Starion Intercooler from the local junkyard but you can never leave any thing alone for too long so I aquired a Blitz Intercooler.
Intercooler is 24x11x3.
Also upgraded from 2" piping to 2 1/4 in and 2 1/2 out of intercooer. The car feels fantastic, didnt loose any low end like I thought I would. The power from 6000rpm up feels like it has increased quite a bit, gonna hit the dyno as soon as I can.
Anyway here are some pics.
This is the starion before we took it out.
new intercooler and piping
Ok thats enough, I have more but you get the idea.
This was a completely custom built job done by John at LHT Performance in Pinellas Park, Fl. Huge
to LHT Performance. This was not a pipe kit, it was all custom fabricated by John.

Looks Great! That things looks huge.
It will be good to see the dyno , Post them when you get them , It will good info to see how larger intercoolers affect power at the same boost.

Thanks for the compliments.
I dont wanna cut the grill out cause I want as much protection of the fins as I can get and I want some support for the chin spoiler.
When I got the IC it was fairly damaged and it took me forever to straighten all the fins...needless to say I never want to do that again.
The Starion IC is already sold, sorry.

Does anyone know the horsepower limits of the size piping Scooter is using.
ie = 2.25" from the turbo to the intercooler then 2.5" out to the thottle body?

is that the blitz piping? i hear the welds in blitz piping isnt so pretty and i just wanted your thoughts on it.

The piping was made from " J " bends. They are mild steel 22gauge on a 4" radius with a 4" straight on one side and a 10" on the other. They cost about $25 a piece and are great to do intercooler tubing and intakes, (Too thin for exhaust). They are very light but tricky to weld , But they are mandrel bent and for the price can't be beat.
I bought the intercooler used from a HT member...thanks Alberto!!
All the pipe was bought from a local auto store and the pipe connected to the T-body is a piece of AEM intake tube.
