Hey guys, I know "squid" is a derogatory term for a biker, but what exactly does it mean?

 

its a guy that rides with no helmet no shirt and shorts. Or a helmet with a tank top and shorts. Basically any guy that thinks its "cool" to ride like that. Some people also think that its anybody who doesnt wear the proper gear. I let people get away with no helmet but no leathers and no long pants are definate grounds.

 

I agree. But even some that do have the right gear can be squids. Doing burnouts, wheelies, stoppies, etc. in front of a crowd of people or on busy streets. I'm not saying doing stunts makes you a squid. Just do that stuff off-road.

i agree that its stupid but i dont think its grounds for being a squid. Im talking about the older guys who have been riding since the 50s and what not. Some people are also not comforable in any kind of helmet due to clostrophobia. Helmet laws are silly IMO because you dont hurt anyone but yourself

 

I'm no squid, I'm the fool cooking his a$$ off in full body armor when it's 95+ out. I kinda like my skin just the way it is, I'll deal with the heat.

 

A squid would be a guy who stuffs you in a canyon on a decreasing radius turn wearing no leathers, no gloves and has no common sense, has been down more times than he has number of bikes owned and can tell you wreck stories spanning over the last 10 years of his life...

Squid = destined to die!

 

IMO it's a guy who knows little about bikes, doesn't know what "corner" means and rides purely for show...

The logic is explained up above if you care to read. And it states that some people are clostrophobic(sp) and cant wear a helmet. But at some point in their lives they wear long pants, gloves, and a jacket so that is acceptable. If they are clostrophobic, then WTF? They cant ride a bike because they wont wear a helmet? Shut the hell up. Who are you to be telling those people they are a squid because they have a problem and therefore cant ride a bike. I also said it was for people who have been riding since before helmets were a common place.

And i said i THINK they used they that engine i would have to check. And i dont persoanlly sell the bikes. I work in parts and accs. I never asked my boss or anyone else their cause I didnt think it would matter.

If you cant stand nonsense then ignore it. Just cause you think your **** dont stink; comin in here and talk trash about me and the other members(me especially) for my opinions and knowledge makes no better than any troll we get in the Kill forum.

 

no gear is done by choice not accident, If someone wants to be dumb let them. If the crash and burn..at least is wasnt you. If they take you out because of stupidity, well thats another story. I dont agree with your logic "bikemaster" I also dont care for your tude towards my fellow member. After all you are a newbie, and Even though BigDaddy made a mistake, you do not know him personally, therefore you cannot judge his knowladge as we cannot judge yours. I like to keep this board clean whenever and however possible. I'd take this as a warning becasue BS is NOT tolorated here. Just ask some of the banned members. I hope this helps you realize that we are not just another "board of incompetant jerks". I take pride in this site, and it shows in the way that we are a community and help each other out. I didn't come in here for a while because bike people usually have a little more comradery than car people since there are so few of us and it being a more dangerous hobby than a car... then I find out posts are being deleted, people are being flamed... enough of this petty bullsheet, everyone grow up.

If people don't want to wear helmets they are hurting only themselves??

tell that to the wife and child of a guy who's head I held still till an ambulance showed up!! Yea that makes sense.....
