stupid question.. putting passanger seat on drivers side.
I have a passanger seat i need to put on a drivers side.. i feel REALLY stupid.. is this possible? Its a crx hf passanger seat going into a drivers side of a crx hf.
My driver side was worn, and I replaced it with a perfect passenger side seat. It is not easy, the only way to do it is take the seats off the seat frame, and swap the padding, and cover. Still a small amount of custom work is needed, but you cant tell its a passenger side seat, so I am stoaked. Ryan
I was driving my CRX Si with the passenger seat over in the driver's side for quite a while
I was working on the driver's seat, that's why....

so is it not possible.. i have a sparco racing seat in my drivers side.. and i want to put the passsanger side on the drivers. I guess its not possible, if i dont have 2 stock seats?
I've always wondered about this, if I swapped my seats (passenger for driver) my interior would look much better. The common spots that are pushed down over 10 years of wear would be on the inside and not visible when you open the door.

I'm still interested in a clear answer to this, anyone else swapped their passenger seat for their driver seat?
I did this swap with my 90 Si. My drivers side seat was practically destroyed. So i went on a local message board and found a passenger side 91 Si seat for $25
. Once i got it home i realized it wasnt going to fit, but when i looked at the actual frame of the seat i saw that they were very similar. So i disconnected the top portion of the seat from the lower portion, then i took out the "o" rings on the bottom of both parts of the seats, from there you just carefully slide the cloth off of the foam, and then you take the foam off the seat and swap it onto you drivers side frame. The nice part about this is that the seatbelt and everything stays the same and it looks like stock. Once thing you will notice is a slightly larger gap between the seat and the e-brake, but its nothing that anyone will notice
. Hope this helps, i may be able to get pics of my seats for you guys.
One more thing, i would check into finding a good condition passenger seat from a junkyard or something before you go ahead and start tearing your seats up

The 88 and 89-91 have different style rails
although in my car, I switched 89Si seats into my 88 SE(DX). I dunno if this is just in Canada, but they swapped in perfectly. Didn't change rails or anything, just had to change the cable(the one for the recliner) cause the seats out of the junkyard had snapped cables.
