great purchase!

the new bulbs in ur jdm headlights are h4 for low/hi and h1 for fog

as u already know, the usdm headlights use 9005 and 9006

if i recall correctly, a member here named volkracing has a wiring diagram for the install

happy new years to u too man

Got my JDM Headlights installed today, and all I can say is OMFG it looks soooo nice. But I got two questions,

-does the install involve putting black tape on wires and such? (making sure the guy didn't skip things and just rush it)

And is something extra need to make the bulbs fit on the usdm lude? Cuz i paid the guy $30 extra for some wire thing... wiring harness maybe?

ill post pics up later, maybe next year. hehe.

Happy New Year to all my luders!
No telling how he made the connections with the wires (wire nuts, solder, just twist 'em together), but in any case electrical tape is normal. The H4/H1 combo is much better and brighter than the 9000 series on the stock lude lights. Great purchase man! I installed my own a few weeks ago and i love 'em. The only complaint i have is the H4 high beams BLOW, but oh well, the H1's i got are bright as all hell.

Oh, and yes VolkRacing has a good wiring diagram but it doesnt sound like you need it, since its already done.

a guy on po.com that is from the uk comfirmed that (and i know its odd) that the h4 only uses the low beam from that bulb and the inner bulb comes on when he clicks on his brights... (in the uk the black houseing 1pc lights are stock btw)

there is a wiring diagram though that enables you to use the h4 as a high beam as well as the h1 so when you click on your brights the low turns off and the high turns on and the normal high beam comes on also.. and all you need is a relay.. i will find it

i find that odd, why would the designers use a dual filament bulb and only use one?

whatever the case is, i have mine wired like VolkRacing but used another bosch 5 pin relay for the inner/fog lights to work

this way, it has a direct power source and not running off the power from the low beams

where the hell do u get off that u need a relay to use high beams. i just cut my harness and connected the leads up to the H1 and H4 just like stock. they work fine.

settle down there bucko
what i was saying was that if you want to use the inner part as a high beam and utilize the high beam filement in the h4 that is how you would do it... you dont have to ... you can use the inner bulb as high only
what the relay does is turns off the low filament in the h4 and activates the high filament in the h4 as well as the h1 whenever you click back on your turn signal lever to activate your brights

the reason you wire it this way is to get really really bright high beams and you have to have the relay turn off the low beam filament so you dont blow the lamp

JDM headlights are one of the best mods for 4th gen ludes. i just love the way they look, they really make a world of difference.

Default Correction....

The diagram that I made (my site: azn.sons.nu), is actually a step further than the true Japanese way.

Japan actually did NOT use the high beam of H4 bulbs and left it unused. I have comfirmed this with many JDM preludes, and Accord Type-Rs.

The Accord Type-Rs also have the black housing lights and setup just like JDM prelude headlights. H1 are much brighter than H4. Hence, 4th gen Preludes and Accord Type-Rs do not use H4's 2nd filiment.

So the relay is actually unneeded. The USDM wires could be Directly connected to the JDM lights for the TRUE way.

I guess I was one step ahead of Japan way, and found out I need to fall back.. heh.

You HAVE to use H4 and H1 lights.....

H4 lights are much brighter than USDM 900X lights.

I like them =D

I paid 375$ for mine used.

I got them from ebay. 330$ for the headlights, and 45$ shipping from Japan off a 1993 prelude.
