Honda is lacking sport carts in the U.S.
5 years later, I can foresee most of the Hondas are fuel-cell powered 100mpg cars.

in the future, instead of the aluminum shell they use, if they switched to a steel frame, they actually may be able to reduce the ridiculous price.

No....aluminum is lighter than steel and its strength is dependent on which composites are added. Aluminum composites can be made as strong as steel but then again steel can be made stronger than any type of composite aluminum.
Aluminum is twice as strong has steel, yet weighs the same.
Why the
? Just because you can't afford it doesn't make it pricey. I personally think a Rolls Royce is a total waste of money when you can buy a S Class for 1/3 of the price.
The new NSX-R is faster than a Modena on the track and it's basic structure is more than a decade old. $90,000 race car for the street?

If I had some extra money, I would pick up an early model low milage NSX. They can be had for $30k and put the NSX-R body panels on it with some fresh paint.

Exactly! Don't forget the Honda reliabilty. You can easily daily drive an NSX like it was an Accord or Integra and not have to worry about $15,000 service bill every 3000 miles!

I agree. But it seems as though the average performance car buyer is more interested in how fast the car can go in a straight line rather than reliability.

hey guys...... get the magazine, its an awesome read!
EVO is the top car publication in my books!, they judge a car for what its worth not just straightline speed! in fact most of their journos prefer handling to outright acceleration.
anyways the NSX-R came 1st......
last years winner was the Zonda C12S, $1m of pure perfection!

EVO is one of my favorite mags. I have such a hard time finding it here and usually get it whenever I go to Europe. My girlfriend just paid the money and got me a subscription for Christmas.
The Jan 2002 issue (#39) had a buyers guide for the Integra Type R in which they said the Type R was "One of the best driver's car they know." Its a good article and you can order the issue from their back issue section.

To some degree. But I think the main reason the NSX is not a run away sales success is simply that the kind of person who has $90K to toss at a car will want to buy something that will stroke his ego more then anything else. So he will get a 911 or the like.

Anywho... I'm gonna grab that magazine
