The Prelude--no more, well for a while...
I am the bearer of bad news it seems, and it's all my fault. Here's the story (kinda long):
I just left the mall to get the new 007 game for Gamecube Sunday night, and taking the usual backroads on the way home, I stumbled upon a situation. There's this 90 degree turn that I take almost everyday, to and from work, and it's nothing new to me--well that night changed everything around. Going 35-40ish in the 35 zone (yes I wasn't speeding for once), I mis-judged the turn and didn't slow down enough for the sharp move. I slide halfway through the turn, overcorrected, and whipped the rear out the opposite direction, heading for the grass ditch---I cut my wheel again only to coast sideways off the road and into a wooden post farm fence, knocking two of them out. While riding along the fence for a few seconds, I was able to swerve back onto the road and pull over to check the damage:
My front bumper was sagging to the ground, my fender was smashed in REALLY bad, along with the passenger door and entire rear quarter panel, the side rear glass is shattered, half of my Black Widow side skirt is missing somewhere, the rear bumper is cracked and screwed, along with scuffs on the taillight and spoiler. Both rims got curbed and scuffed, and on the driver side front, the lip of the body is just ripped to hell. Sounds bad, but really---yes it's pretty damn nasty lookin. I'll have to get my friends digital cam for pics soon when it stops raining here.
I've gotten estimates from a few places including the dealer, and it's going to take $7k to fix
It's not totalled cuz they booked my car at $13,000, and it's not 75% of the value to fix...so the Prelude will live on, but not in one piece right now. This really sucks, and it was simply by driver error...at least it's my first self-caused wreck ever
Also, the suspension isn't screwed and it rides like it did before, thank God, and thank God I was wearing a seatbelt...

Owch. Glad to hear you're ok. Guess it shows how serious even familiar turns can be. Does your insurance provide a rental car while you're waiting for yours to be fixed?
