Helical Type R LSD into GSR Tranny? Will it fit?
I'm a newbie, so forgive me if I say anything stupid. Like the title says, is the helical Type R LSD a direct swap into the GSR tranny? What's needed to complete this swap? What were your guys' experiences with the LSD? A big improvement? I'd appreciate any info.
Just for claification... are you talking about the stock LSD that comes with ITR's? If you are then I'm positive that it will fit in a GS-R. I have never done it and so I wouldn't know about the performance of the LSD.
Hey with an LS tranny, what would you need to install an ITR LSD? Do you need a 4.4 final drive or a ring pinion or countershaft? I did a search, somebody else asked this a while ago and got no response. Somebody help! I need an LSD!

Thanks a lot. After researching a LOT I found this info, thank you very much for confirming it. It looks like a little more trouble and money than it's worth. And the only other LSD's that work for LS are Phantom Grip (eww) and Quaife, and neither my car nor I are badass enough to justify getting a Quaife. Thanks for the detailed info though, it is very appreciated.
...Or swap the ring gear on the LSD carrier to the one off the stock slippery differential if you want to keep the same final drive.

I thought it was that easy too.
