Im trying to reset or turn off my Sr5 system? anyone know how?

 

there's a yellow connector that connects to the underdash fuse box. Connect the two leads inside the connector while you turn on the car. Disconnect the two leads when the srs light goes off. When it comes back on connect the two leads again. When the light goes off disconnect the two leads. The srs light should blink twice after that showing that the dtc memory is erased.

 

did you accidentally pull the SRS fuse and now the SRS light won't go off?

so your talking about the yellow wire that connects to nothing on the underfusebox, and do i check it like if i was gonna check for codes with a paperclip, please let me know thanks.

 

Yea it just connects to a holder w/ no electrical connections on the fuse box. You can use a paper clip. Oh, when u turn on the car turn only to II on the ignition, don't actually start up the engine. When you're done and the srs light blinks twice, leave the car off for like 10 secs before you start it up. Fyi, the dealerships charge like $75 to do this for you. hahaha. If it comes up again though and you didn't do anything to it, there maybe be something wrong w/ the srs system and then you should bring it to a dealership to check.

what are the reasons an SRS would turn on? i got into a minor accident and it never came on, had it taken to a shop, they repaired it and when i picked it up the srs light was mysteriously on. any ideas?

 

The srs light comes on cause something happens to the srs system. It came up once on my car when I turned it on w/o the cluster connected. Something w/ the srs could have been disconnected when they worked on the car and they turned it on. A big short to ground somewhere else in the car can cause the srs light to go on too cause the srs computer grounds to the chassis. My amp wire touched the chassis one time that caused the light to go on again along w/ the abs light too. Haha. As long as it the light doesn't come back its in good shape.

 

does the srs light ever come on to indicate somethign wrong with the airbag system? how do i know if my srs system is working after i reset the light?
