I dont know about you guys, but there is something about the growl of the seconmdaries butterflies popping that gives me goose bumps. Are there anymore secondary fans here?

Yep secondaries are cool.

 

Secondaries or secondary butterflies are the dual stage runners used in the GSR and most H22 motors. They open up at a certain RPM and improve midrange but also prohibit flow slightly compared to a single stage intake manifold like on the B16 and B18C5. Many people with GSR's swith to the Type-R style Skunk2 manifold to eliminate them, but as for myself, I like them Secondaries OwNzzz JoO!!!

 

Unfortunately for me, my secondaries have NEVER worked, ever since I swapped the b18c into my hatch. I have to "force" them open or they are always closed. I think it might be one of those sensors on the back, its in the shop right now, so I'll ask him to see if he can figure out whats wrong with it.

If not I'll try to get another for like 50 bux from someone, but if not....I guess I'll just have to buy the skunk2.

secondaries own y0. especially on my friend's taurus sho, they feel like vtec lol. doesn't the erick's racing all motor civic run a gsr manifold???

 

I'm not a fan of secondaries. I like the theory, but they are a pain in the *** to hook up for doing a swap and getting to work.

I have more than enough torque for an h22 in my car, and secondaries aren't necessary.

I want single runners asap. that's all i have to say.

 

hell i picked up a 01 GSR head a couple weeks ago cause i missed my secondaries so bad. does that answer the ?

 

secondaries are not bad, but are they neceassary ? car and motor already comes with so many parts that can fail easily another gimmick (sort of) to give an average customer better feeling. otherwise an LS would feel quicker to most who test drive it not knowing honda needs to be reved.

so I give secondaries / 5, low because its slightly too late.
but low vtec in a gsr gets / 5, as its too damn early

overall dual stage or variable lenght intakes gets no love from me, especially when doing the oil filter or other maintance

Actually I think the Erick's Racing car uses a ported stock gsr im with removed secondaries

 

Yeah my buddy talks to skunk 2 like once a week and they say the manifold for the H22 is coming out in Feb. I cant wait. They need to hurry up on that **** yo.

 

I don't think mine kick in. GRRRR.. Can't be sure, never had a honda before. On my H22 Hatch, I hear something go wwaaaaAAAAAA at about 5100-5200, but not sure if that's VTEC or secondaries.. either way, it feels too slow Not normal.. We'll get it though!
How can you tell when running it if they open?? Any easy ways to do so? and yes, the little armeture does close them when I start the car, so they close at least. Why does my EK22 feel slow to me??

 

secondaries suck ***, on all the swaps we do we help the customer by taking them out if you take that out and cut out some of that crap you get a good manifold
