CEL Code on 98 v-6 .. 17 or an 80??
I just jumped the CEL light and I got what looks like either 8 flashes in a row, not super fast but not really long, or my eyes are confusing me and the first flash seems longer than the others... probably me looking at it too close. SO is there any such thing as an 17? or would I be trying for an 80? And what might these mean? Thanks in advance!
On the 98+ I4 accord code 17 is VSS (vehicle speed sensor) circuit malfunction
edit: thats only true for manual tranny cars. pretty much rules out your V6
80 is EGR insufficient flow there was a post about it a few days ago.

well looks like it's 8 long flashes a long pause then 8 long flashes again. That would be an 80 right? Anyone have a helms that would say what the problem might be? It's my mom's car and I don't have the helms for the 98 v-6.
Code 80 is an EGR code. It's a common problem on v6s. Honda extended the warranty on EGR repairs on them, so if you have less than 80,000 miles on it, take it to a dealer for a free fix.
